• A snapshot of character and maturity

At our secondary school, students are divided into four “gospel” groups—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Throughout the year, these groups compete in different activities.

Last week, during a girls’ race between gospel groups, something beautiful happened.

Nancy, an S2 student, was in second place, with Faith, an S1 student, close behind in third. As they neared the finish line, Nancy began to lose strength and slowed to a walk.

Faith had every opportunity to pass her and take second place. But instead of pushing ahead, Faith reached out, took Nancy’s hand, and encouraged her to keep going. She ran alongside her until Nancy found her strength again and crossed the finish line in second place.

Faith finished third—but she chose to celebrate Nancy’s win instead of securing her own. In a highly competitive moment, her quiet act of kindness and selflessness stood out as something worth honoring: a glimpse of character, maturity, and love in action. We are so proud of her!
