It can be easy to notice what others are doing wrong, especially when their choices or beliefs are different from our own. But Scripture challenges us to be cautious in how we judge others. Jesus reminds us to look at ourselves first—to address our own shortcomings before we critique someone else’s. The apostle Paul echoes this by encouraging us to be gracious with one another, especially in areas where sincere believers may disagree.
The goal is not to avoid all disagreement, but to approach others with humility, compassion, and a willingness to listen. When we shift our focus from judgment to love and understanding, we make space for deeper relationships and reflect the heart of Christ.
