Jesus’ death on the cross was necessary because God’s justice demands that sin be punished. At the same time, God’s love made a way for that punishment to be taken by Jesus, who was completely innocent. This means God remains perfectly just while offering us full forgiveness.
The cross shows us the seriousness of sin, but also the incredible lengths God went to restore His people. The cross reminds us of the sacrifice Jesus made and calls us to live in gratitude, trusting the forgiveness He won for us.
