Week 34 Introduction

If someone asked you to describe what love is, what would you say?
Most people think of love as a feeling—something warm, emotional, maybe even romantic. But the Bible gives us a much deeper definition. In 1 Corinthians 13, we find a picture of love that’s far more than just emotion—it’s a commitment, a choice, and a way of life.
The kind of love described in this passage is called agape love. This is a selfless, sacrificial love that chooses the good of others above our own comfort or convenience. While this passage is often read at weddings, it wasn’t originally written for couples—it was written to challenge all believers to love others the way Jesus loves us.
This love isn’t easy, and it doesn’t come naturally. But it’s exactly the kind of love we’re called to live out every day.
