Week 37 Introduction

In everyday life, assurance is when someone gives their word or makes a promise that gives you confidence. It’s more than just hoping something will happen — it’s trusting that someone will do what they said. This kind of confidence brings peace, security, and freedom from fear.
Think about times when you’ve needed assurance:
* When you’re nervous about a big exam and a teacher assures you that you’re prepared.

* When you’re walking through something hard, and a friend assures you that they’re not going to leave your side.

* When someone promises, “I’ve got you — don’t worry.”

True confidence doesn’t come from our emotions or the opinions of others—it comes from knowing who God is. He is unchanging, completely trustworthy, and full of mercy and truth. That’s why we can live with confidence—not in ourselves, but in Him. Our confidence in salvation isn’t based on how we feel or what we’ve done, but on the finished work of Jesus and the faithful character of God. When we understand that He is constant and true, we can walk securely—knowing we are His, we are forgiven, and our future with Him is guaranteed.
How do we live with the assurance of eternal life?
