For nearly 20 years, we’ve watched something powerful unfold. Students arrive at The Amazima School. They encounter the Gospel. And over time, their lives begin to change, then their families, followed by their communities.
“We believe that people change in relationship,” Katie shares, “with each other and with God.”
But a question has been growing in our hearts: What if this transformation could reach even further?
Over the last few years, Katie, Rachel, and our team have been prayerfully dreaming about how to expand this impact—how to multiply what we’ve seen God do at Amazima across an entire nation.
Today, that dream has a name: Imprints. We are excited to lock arms with like-minded organizations and schools across the nation to replicate the Amazima model.
Watch the video above as our Founder and CEO share the heart behind Imprints, and why this expansion could lead to true nationwide change.
What Is an Imprint?
At its core, an Imprint is a partnership.
Amazima partners with another like-minded ministry already rooted in its community and comes alongside to equip, strengthen, and support using the Amazima model for education and discipleship. Amazima provides training, mentorship, and resources to Christ-centered organizations that are already doing great work.
To put it simply: we want to share everything we’ve seen to be successful, as well as some of the pitfalls we’ve encountered over the years, to help other organizations make deeper and wider impacts in their communities, and ultimately, the nation. We want to leverage all that God has given us for the benefit of others and His Kingdom.
How did Imprints Come to Be?
When we talk about using the Amazima model, we mean our model that includes the Primary School, the Secondary School, our Futures programs, and through these, the involvement of parents, guardians, and community members, which we call Community Engagement. This includes many different wraparound programs that keep us deeply invested in the communities our students come from. The heart of all of these programs is discipleship—deep and lasting relationships that go far beyond any program.
We strive not just to educate our students, but to empower and educate their families and villages—desiring to lift entire communities out of poverty and see them become disciples of Jesus.
And what we’ve seen, after nearly 20 years, is that our schools have become a community hub where people are gathering for all sorts of different events, activities, celebrations, encouragement, and friendship. When Katie began her journey in Uganda, she always knew that we change in relationships—with Jesus and each other. Everything we do at Amazima is centered around that principle.
And now, all these years later, we can step back with awe and thanksgiving as we marvel at the Christ-centered community God has allowed us to create at Amazima, at the deep life-transformation we are seeing in students, families and communities. And God has led us to dream again: What now? What next? How can we leverage all that God has given us for the benefit of others to impact a nation?
We believe that God has uniquely positioned us to bring Gospel transformation to the entire country of Uganda.
Why Imprints are important
Uganda is a nation of children: over 50% of the population is under the age of 17, according to the 2024 census. Investing in Ugandan children will quite literally change the future of a nation. This work matters.
Uganda doesn’t need more buildings. It needs stronger communities, equipped leaders, and Gospel-centered discipleship.
Across the country, there are incredible organizations already doing meaningful work—people who are trusted, invested, and deeply committed to their communities. But many of them lack long-term support and infrastructure. At the same time, we’ve spent over a decade building and refining a model that works. Imprints connects those two realities.
Instead of starting from scratch, we honor what already exists, strengthen local leadership, and multiply proven impact by coming alongside and mentoring others invested in similar work.
How the Imprint Model Works
Identify organizations that share our heart for discipleship, are already trusted in their communities, and have strong relational foundations.
Partner with like-minded organizations by coming alongside and empowering the great work they are already doing. Listen, learn, and develop long term strategy that will help these organizations have Gospel impact in their communities.
Equip our partners with all the elements of the Amazima Model: educational systems and curriculum, teacher training and mentorship, discipleship resources, and operational structures and best practices.
Learn together in a continuous relationship. We will provide ongoing coaching and support, host training retreats, and collaborate through shared learning across our growing network of Imprints. Amazima’s campus will become the central hub for Imprints all over the nation and a place where educators can be mentored and encouraged.
Each Imprint remains uniquely its own, but all are rooted in the same mission: to make disciples of Jesus through excellent education, authentic relationships, and strengthened communities.
What Makes Imprints Different
Most expansion models focus on replication, but Imprints focuses on multiplication.
Instead of building new campuses, hiring new teams, and trying to build trust from ground zero, we get to build on existing trust, strengthen local partners, and create a network of aligned and thriving communities. And the result? It’s not just more schools, it’s a movement of discipleship and leadership development across a nation.
The Bigger Vision
The Amazima campus will become a central hub where teachers are trained, leaders are encouraged, organizations are equipped, and community is built. And with each new Imprint comes a further reach, impacting its own families, its own communities, its own future leaders.
Together, we form a growing network with one shared purpose: to see individuals, families, and entire communities transformed through Jesus.
Our vision is that all of Uganda’s 23 million young people will have access to excellent education where they learn the truth of Jesus Christ. We want to disciple the next generation to be future leaders and change-makers in their country.
It is a big vision, but we have seen what God can do with willing hearts and open hands surrendered to Him in obedience.
Our First Imprint
We have already begun a partnership with our first Imprint! HEAL Ministries is a trusted ministry that exists not far from Amazima’s campus in Jinja and that is also based out of Nashville, TN. HEAL’s mission is to empower children through relationships and Christ-centered programs, much like Amazima.
HEAL currently owns land in their community of Budondo and operates a preschool and farm for the community. They have always dreamed of having a Primary School and the community has been asking for one, but alone, they haven’t had the resources or staff to pull it off.
40 of HEAL’s current preschool students will be ready to enter primary school in January of 2027. We are spending all of 2026 helping them hire their staff, bringing them to our campus for training, shadowing, and partner teaching. In February of 2027, in partnership with HEAL, we will open the first grade of the first Amazima Imprint Primary School at HEAL Ministries. We will then spend the next two years building the additional structures needed for the primary school so that the school will grow one class at a time.
Our hope is that this is just the beginning to one day having Amazima Imprints all over the nation to the glory of God and for the advancement of His Kingdom!
