God’s promises are more reliable than any human’s. He does not lie. He cannot lie. That means when He promises to forgive, to rescue, to give eternal life — He means it. And He will do it.
Having assurance means living in peace and confidence. We don’t have to wonder if we’re good enough. We don’t have to be afraid of death. We can live with joy, knowing our future is secure.
Peter wrote to Christians who were discouraged and unsure — just like people today. That’s why he reminded them of the living hope they had through Jesus. And it’s why we remind each other today.
