Do you remember why what was happening to the Israelites was so bad?
* First, the fig tree didn’t blossom. Why did this matter?
* Next, they lost the grapes. What made this bad?
* Losing the produce of the olive was worse. Why?
* Even more critical was the loss of grain. What did this mean?
* The final blow was the loss of the livestock. What made this the worst of all?
Regardless of how bad things got, Habakkuk was determined to keep his heart from sinking into despair. How? By focusing on God’s faithfulness, kindness, and provision rather than the problem. Habakkuk responded to the escalating crisis by rejoicing in God.
