Happy New Year!
It’s the dawn of a new year and those new year’s resolutions are starting to float through our minds. What do I want to accomplish this year? How do I want to make changes to my life? Where do I hope to be this time next year?
All great things to think through, but we’d be missing out if we didn’t also take time to process and reflect on last year.
“Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life.”
Deuteronomy 4:9
As we look back on 2023, here are some new year’s questions that can be discussed with family or friends, or could act as journal prompts. Here’s to taking a quick look back before we move forward.
In the past year…
-
1
What characteristic of God did I learn the most about?
-
2
Who did I form a deeper relationship with?
-
3
What is a time I felt proud of myself?
-
4
What is a time I showed great courage?
-
5
What is one area I grew in spiritually, professionally and relationally?
-
6
What is something new that I really enjoyed?
-
7
How did I learn to rest?
-
8
Where did I see God even when it was hard?
-
9
What is a fun memory that sticks out?
-
10
What rhythms did I begin that I want to carry into this next year?
We hope and pray that your year ahead is filled with joy as you walk the journey with Jesus and that you continue to grow from the lessons learned in 2023. Happy New Year!
