Sacred Moments

We look forward to our Christmas celebration with the children and families in Amazima’s Sponsorship Outreach every year! The day is full of festivities, and gives us all a chance to enjoy each other, give honor where honor is due, and most of all, celebrate our Lord and Savior. We sing, we dance, and we remember. We remember the birth of Christ, and what His life, death, and resurrection mean for the world today.

We also take time to pass out awards to students in our outreach who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance!

This year, we also celebrated 17 of our sponsored students who graduated from either vocational school or university. Education beyond secondary school is uncommon here. Because of that, ordinary tasks like handing out graduation gifts to 17 students, are sacred moments for us.

Chances are, all 17 of our graduates’ lives would look very, very different today if God didn’t bring them to Amazima years ago. Many of them have been with us since our sponsorship outreach began, and they are where they are today because of many of you have also been with us since the beginning. What better time of the year to remember Christ’s power to rewrite stories and offer hope for the future?

The graduation gifts we gave will help jumpstart Amazima’s graduates into their careers. Students received sewing machines, toolboxes, hair dressing tools, cooking utensils. and other items related to their career fields. The gifts represent our full support, and our confidence in the bright futures the Lord has prepared for them all.

To Amazima’s sponsors, your consistent giving makes moments like these possible, and we hope you sense the depth of your contribution, which is so much more than monetary. You have allowed us to make an eternal deposit in the lives of hundreds of students and families, and for that, we are most thankful.
